Strength in depth
Aquatic began as Tesson Hammers Inc. in Louisiana, USA over 40 years ago. In 1974, at the request of a US customer, we established an office in Aberdeen to provide innovative engineering, construction and personnel services - initially supplying pipe handling frames...
In July 1974, the company was approached by Hamilton Brothers Oil Company and invited to propose a method to complete the hook-up of the first North Sea pipeline; this contract led to the formation of Aquatic International Corporation. After the work in the Argyll field was completed in 1976, a new subsidiary, Aquatic of Scotland, Inc., was created and set up in Aberdeen. In 1990, following a management buy-out the company name was changed to Aquatic Engineering & Construction Ltd.
In 1994 we acquired the business of Aberdeen Offshore Services (AOS) which was involved primarily in the area of technical resources for the Marine and Subsea industry. The synergy created by the merger consolidated our position in the UK and overseas.
In July 2006, the acquisition of Aquatic by the Acteon Group added a key new capability to Acteon’s specialist subsea back-of-boat services.
