Aquatic to host IACCM meeting

Aquatic Engineering & Construction Ltd, an Acteon company, will host the next Aberdeen International Association for Contract & Commercial Management (IACCM) meeting on Thursday 11 September 2014, beginning at 08:00, at its Aberdeen headquarters.

The meeting is open to all IACCM members and will have a limited number of places for non-members who may be considering joining the association. Jenny Bamford, Aquatic’s vice president commercial, will reprise the topic she recently presented at the IACCM European Forum in Copenhagen, Denmark. Diane Kilkenny, IACCM’s director, Europe & Africa, will deliver the keynote address and discuss why commercial development at grassroots level is strategically important for the oil and gas industry in Aberdeen. She will also present the results of the Top Terms in Negotiation, the most negotiated terms as found in the recent research, trends and the impact they will have on negotiations over the coming years.

The IACCM is globally renowned for establishing and governing value-driven trading relationships. It was founded in 1999 with support from British Telecom, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Lucent Technologies, Marconi Communications and Siemens. It now has members from 158 countries and more than 11,600 corporations.

Kilkenny said, “We are looking forward to encouraging members and non-members alike to consider the strategic importance of commercial departments in driving value throughout their organisations. This is relevant in any industry and brings significant advantages for the oil and gas industry in a commercial heartland like Aberdeen.”

Jenny Bamford’s presentation during the Danish conference in June, “Best-Class Management: The Strategic Contracting Transformation at Aquatic,” shared how the changes implemented at Aquatic have revitalised the company’s approach to commercial practice. There are now 13 employees across the company enrolled on the IACCM accreditation programme to achieve excellence in their level of competencies and skills.

Aquatic group president, Chris Brooks, said, “Aquatic’s corporate membership of the IACCM supports a team of employees striving for commercial excellence. Our business transactions create mutual benefits, and our customers and suppliers recognise that our commitment to excellence also extends to excellence in our commercial relationship with them.”

Due to limited space, attendance is by invitation only and anyone wishing to attend should register via the IACCM website: . For more information or to book your place, email Diane Kilkenny, Director, Europe & Africa at
